20th Birthday Party - August 2018

Our choir and orchestra were founded in August 1998 by Mr James Edwin Rushman, our Musical Director, and to celebrate the occasion, 84 members gathered at The Vardar Restaurant in Littlehampton to enjoy a wonderful evening. Attendees were made up of choir and orchestra members, patrons, partners and friends. Special invites were sent to the Mayor of Littlehampton and his consort and to representatives from our chosen charities for the year to July 2018, being Parkinson's UK, 4Sight, Chichester Stroke Club and Children on the Edge.

The evening began with speeches from our Chairman Noel and James, followed by a special presentation of gifts to James and Chris.

Before dinner was served, we sang our own special choir Grace, sung to the tune of "Thank you for the Music".

After dinner, everyone was encouraged to join in singing Sussex By the Sea, I Could Be Happy With You, Greased Lightning and Summer Nights. There was a special moment for James and Chris when the choir stood in Flash Mob style to sing a song that was written by choir member Barbara Jackson, the lyrics of which praised and thanked them both.

There followed our Annual Award presentation to recognise and thank those who have made a special contribution to the choir during the year, as nominated and voted on by the choir. A new award, The President's Award, was unveiled, which the winner was decided upon by James. Categories and winners were: -
